The business is a training delivery partner for the YCL (formerly North Yorkshire Learning Consortium) from whom it has secured funding to deliver various employability contracts with a current contract to provide Employability Services for NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training for 16 to 18 and 19 to 25 year olds with learning difficulties), a Community Grants Contract to work with lone parents and the overs 50′s and a work placement programme aimed at providing work experience for young people.
We work closely with both Richmond and Northallerton Job Centre Plus who routinely refer their customers to our centre. The informal relationship with Job Centre Plus also keeps us up-to-date with developments in the labour market locally and nationally and provides a further resource of local vacancies.
We have a North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) grant awarded by the Community Federation to work with the Children’s Centre in Colburn to provide Job Club activities for young parents. We are also in the process of working to secure further funding to expand our services to include a recruitment service so that we can work more closely with employers to place the job ready and those that have completed our programmes into work, placements and volunteering.
