Experience & Services

We have three years experience of coaching and mentoring learners back into work, self employment, further training and volunteering. We have developed a range of tools, lesson plans and interventions to help learners overcome both social and economic barriers.

We have extensive experience helping learners to produce effective CV’s which have been instrumental in gaining interviews and thereafter employment. We have coached learners to be systematic job searchers and shown them physiological and psychological ways to boost their chances of being offered a job at interview. These interview techniques have enabled more than 50% of learners who have undertaken our training to become a volunteer, find a job or set up their own business.

We are a registered UK Online Centre and have used IT skills training to help learners become more socially active by using email, Facebook, Twitter and Skype to stay in touch with friends and family and to make new friends. We have helped learners become Ebay traders and to create websites which have started them on the path to economic activity.

We work in either small groups or one to one and we have found that small scale learning has more impact and provides a secondary gain of bringing learners with similar issues together to form friendships. This reduces social isolation in two ways; 1) by attending our learning centre and 2) by forming relationships with others at our learning or outreach centre.

Once a learner has progressed into employment we can also provide support and advice with the objective of ensuring that employment continues into the long term. We also have developed relationships with local providers including  a recruitment consultant and a HR specialist. We have an excellent working relationship with employers who have employed learners following their training with us and who are happy to take more learners from us as placements or employees. We are continually looking to expand our list of employers who will offer work placements.
